Carl Wilson, CFO

Carl Wilson

My father, Jim Wilson, started KAJO radio back in 1957. I began working in the family business in 1964 when was 12 years old. So, it has been a lifetime of radio for me. My younger brother, Matt, joined me in bringing KLDR on the air in 1991. So, it has been a family affair as well! Over the years, I have gone from Saturday phone-answerer to teenage announcer, announcer-salesman, assistant manager, general manager and talk show host, and now, CFO of the company. I still do talk radio on Tuesday and Wednesdays, a show that you can hear archived at www.kajo.com.

I stepped down from general management in June of '06 to become CFO.

In my spare time, I am administrator and communications head at River Valley Community Church in Grants Pass, www.rivervalleycc.org. I love serving God in this role. I have also been to Israel and Africa in the last year and hope to go to India and Africa in '08 with a short term mission team.

Hobbies? Pretty much confined to motorcycles... working on them and riding them since 1968. I've put 42 thousand miles on my '98 Harley Springer in the last four years and am now enjoying the KAJO/KLDR custom chopper as well. Being a rigid, old-school machine you can bet I won't be riding it much. Builder Steve Hodgson created a beautiful machine for us. I estimate that I have ridden several hundred thousand miles on two wheels in the last 40 years.

I'm married to Malinda and have been for 35 years, have two grown kids, J.L. and Lora, and two grandkids, Abigail and Tyler.
