At North Valley High School, we talked to a large group of students interested in the broadcasting industry. In that a number of the students were seniors, they were most interested in growth opportunities and salary issues.

We had the opportunity to talk to a large group of interested students about the broadcasting industry. There were many students eager to talk to us, as many of them listen to us. Subjects talked about included programming…both music and news.

Activity: Jobapalooza

We had the opportunity to talk to over 200 students from all 4 local high schools. Many students were eager to talk to us and had great questions about broadcasting, programming, news, and music. It was a nice event.


Job Shadow: We have an intern program with the Hidden Valley FBLA. The students get to come and shadow the employees of KAJO/KLDR the week of Oct. 1-5 and in exchange we get to use their services in helping to promote the station in the community or for extra help at any event we have. The kids earn time and learn the behind the scene actions of a business which is credit to their state competition for FBLA.

Establishment of the Jim Wilson, KAJO/KLDR Scholarship, a $1000.00 scholarship, is awarded to a deserving senior graduate of Grants Pass High School. This student must be interested in pursuing a career in Journalism.

None. In spite of a protracted on-air schedule requesting names of organizations wishing to be notified of full-time job openings at KAJO/KLDR, we received not one request during the reporting period.
