Negotiations Break Down between Medford Teachers & School District
Negotiations for a new labor contract between the Medford Teachers Union and the Medford School District broke down yesterday, reaching an official impasse. A labor strike is now possible in mid- to late-December.

Bomb Attempt at Jackson County D.A.’s Office
The Medford Police Department and Federal authorities are investigating an explosion that occurred at around 4:30 this morning at the Jackson County District Attorney’s office. Medford Police say it was a homemade bomb made from a propane tank.

Jackson County Escapee Captured
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed Bradley William Monical, 43, who escaped from the Jackson County jail in November of 2012, is back in custody and will be returned to the Jackson County Jail soon.

The City of Grants Pass is holding a community forum Thursday at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers located at 101 N.W. A Street to discuss how effective the city purchased jail beds are at deterring crime.

School Board Passes Resolution To Issue Procurement Cards
The District Seven School Board unanimously passed a resolution authorizing the issuance of individual procurement cards for District employees. It is the first required step to enter into a contract with a bank to secure procurement cards.
