Wednesday morning the Grants Pass Public Safety Traffic Team will conduct a traffic safety operation in the 1500 block of the Williams Highway. The Department of Public Safety release states the speeds in this area have increased, elevating the risk of injury and death in a high congestion area.

Last Friday morning 5-year-old Sharon Gongora and her mother, Maria Manriquez, 37, were the victims of a hit and run driver in the 9th and Riverside intersection that resulted in severe injuries to Sharon, including a skull fracture and multiple fractures to her right arm.
