BLM Cites Budget Uncertainties in Delaying the Opening of the Hyatt Lake Facilities
The Medford District of BLM is delaying the opening of the Hyatt Lake campground and boat docks until at least May 15th due to budget uncertainties. BLM contends they cannot hire the necessary seasonal employees need to prepare the campground, plow the roads, and assemble the floating boat dock. The facility traditionally opens in mid-April at the start of fishing season.
Pear Blossom Festival Begins Friday
The 60th annual Pear Blossom Festival begins Friday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. with the opening of the street fair. To facilitate the five o’clock opening the Medford Police department has released the schedule of street closures.
House Bill Authorizing State to Levy Taxes for Insolvent Counties Languishing in Rules Committee.
Legislation allowing the governor, in conjunction with the president and minority leaders of both the Oregon House and Senate to declare an emergency for insolvent counties and levy new taxes was referred to the rules committee after a March 14th hearing.
