A man pled guilty today to second-degree assault, DUII and being a felon in possession of a firearm for an incident where he assaulted another man at 111 Peach St. in late January.

Mt. Ashland Skier Found Safe!
At 11:30 a.m. this morning the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office located 52-year-old Carol Koon, the missing skier on Mt. Ashland. Searchers spent the morning looking for Koon. Around 10:42 a.m. Koon was able to get her cell phone to work and made a call to her husband. A short time later, a helicopter from Brim Aviation spotted Koon from the air. The pilot was able to guide a Search and Rescue snow cat into the area where Koon was located and she was picked up.
