Community Forum on City Fire & Rescue Service Tuesday Night
A community forum to gain a better understanding of citizens current expectations and concerns about the city’s fire and rescue division are will be held Tuesday night from six to eight p.m. in City Council Chambers at 101 Northwest A Street.
Fire Danger Climbs to High today
The fire danger level on Oregon Department of Forestry-protected lands in Josephine and Jackson counties increased today. The public regulated use fire danger level is “high” but the Industrial Fire Precaution Level will remain at level 1.
Grants Pass City Council Monday Workshop
The Grants Pass City Council will meet for their Monday workshop from 11:45am to 1:00pm in Council Chambers at 101 NW A Street.

Medford Man Get 7+ Years for Attempted Murder
Antoine Ramone Coleman, 45, was sentenced Friday to seven and a half years in prison for attempted murder. According to the prosecuting attorney Coleman attacked his wife of 14 years, stabbing her multiple times with first a steak knife, which broke, then a butcher knife.
May Raids in Jackson Continue to Yield Arrests
Medford Police made two more arrests this week in connection with an ongoing investigation into a Jackson County drug ring. The arrests are linked to drug raids on three Medford locations on May 27th.

Grants Pass City Police kept an average of just over 27 of their rented jail beds full in the previous seven days ending Thursday while making 68 arrests and issuing 91 citations. Their Nuisance Intervention Team made 34 contacts, gave 11 warnings, 6 citations and made one arrest

Jackson County Emergency Management has just completed an upgrade to Citizen Alert, the County Emergency Notification System.
