Elevated Bacteria Counts Recorded in Southern Oregon Creeks
Routine water quality tests in four Jackson County Creeks show state bacteria standards are being exceeded and pose an elevated risk of illness and infection for swimmers and waders. Low water levels are being blamed for the contamination levels that are typically not seen until much later in the summer.

City Council votes on jail bed contract
The Grants Pass City Council during their Wednesday meeting at 6:00 p.m. in council chambers at 101 N.W. A St. are set to vote on an amendment of the municipal code by adding a jail services utility fee and declaring an emergency to warrant the rental of 28 beds in the Josephine County Jail.

Judge Wolke utilizes county rented jail beds in Jackson County Jail to spare a probation violator prison time
Judge Pat Wolke sentenced a probation violator to 50 days in the Jackson County Jail today and spared him prison time by making use of rented detoxification beds.
