Francisco Javier Mercado-Chavez, 41, was arrested by the Ashland Police Department yesterday for an armed robbery at the Astro Gas Station last February.
Medford Arsonist Strikes at Mid-day
A suspicious fire Monday afternoon at the side of a West Medford apartment could mean that city’s serial arsonist is getting bolder, running the string of fires to 18 in less than a month. The fire was touched off at 1 p.m. near a usually busy alley behind the 200 block of North Ivy Street.
Marijuana Tax Considered by Central Point Council

Mike Welch, owner of Puff’s Smoke Shop in Ashland, has appealed the state’s decision to deny him a license for a medical marijuana dispensary. He had been operating a dispensary called Siskiyou Medical Supply inside his shop since last year but was ordered to close it on April 30th
