Sickle-Armed Robbery Suspects Arrested by Medford P.D.
The Medford Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with the two robberies of the Subway on Crater Lake Avenue and one of the Mini Pet Mart, also on Crater Lake Avenue in which the perpetrator wielded a sickle as a weapon.

Happy Camp Fires Claim 71,729 acres
The Happy Camp Complex of fires has grown to 71,729 acres and the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for gusty northeast winds and unstable conditions for the fire area through 11 p.m. tonight. Extreme fire behavior is possible with long range spotting two miles ahead of the fire.

Fire danger predicted to remain high in Southern Oregon
The National Interagency Fire Center has released their monthly report which predicts higher than normal fire danger in Southern Oregon throughout the month of September.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue volunteers responded to four incidents over Labor Day Weekend and details on the rescue operations were released late Tuesday.

Happy Camp Fires Grow; Weather Not Helpful
The Happy Camp Complex of fires has grown to 66,335 acres and the National Weather Service issued a fire watch for Tuesday night through Wednesday because of a combination of strong winds and extremely dry conditions. North to northeast winds are expected which will increase fire behavior with long range spotting a possibility.

Weekday bus service between downtown Grants Pass and downtown Medford starts today. The Rogue Valley Commuter Line buses will run five times daily, Monday through Friday.

G.P. Council votes on authorizing seismic awards for downtown businesses
