The Josephine County Commissioners passed the consent calendar unanimously including approval of the 2010 Emergency Shelter Grant Program, ordering the posting of speed limit signs on Old Stage Road, and the appointing of Geoff Garcia, Jack Swift, Paul Torrence, Lawrence Ford, Shane Jimerfield, Dan Delany and Joel King to the Natural Resource Coordinating Committee.

A collision between a car and tractor trailer rig killed 33 year old Vincent Jaramillo of Brookings, started a fire on both sides of U.S. 101 and closed the highway for nearly six hours yesterday.
GP Resident's Murder Trial Begins in Medford
The murder trial of Grants Pass resident Charles Alexander White II, 29, got underway in Jackson County Circuit Court yesterday alleging White, who is black, shot Timothy James Sheeler, 29, who is white, at least five times near the corner of 12th and Grape Streets in Medford last March.

Meth Possession Gets 6 Months in Jail
William Carlos Sellers, 31, was found guilty of possession of methamphetamine Tuesday afternoon and was sentenced to six months in jail followed by a twelve month probationary period.
Sellers was also guilty of criminal driving while suspended and will also pay attorneys fees and assessments.
