Community Library Gets Four New Computers
Four new Internet-access public workstations are now available for patrons at the Grants Pass branch of Josephine Community Libraries, thanks to a grant from the Four Way Community Foundation. With the addition of the new workstations, there are now 20 total Internet-access computers at the Grants Pass branch and a total of 37 Internet-access computers available to the public between all four branches of JCLI.

The Sheldon Irish shutout the young Grants Pass Caveman baseball team Thursday afternoon 8 to 0. Gaje McDaniel gave the Irish all the offense they needed by pounding a homerun and a double for three RBI’s and scoring twice himself.

Tuition May Rise at SOU
A 5.8 percent increase in tuition has been recommended by the Tuition Advisory, Budget and Enrollment Council at Southern Oregon University. If approved, a student taking a full load of 15 hours would pay an extra $358 yearly.

A suspect was sentenced today to seven years and one month in prison for charges of attempted first-degree rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration in Josephine County Circuit Court.

Fred Meyer Branch of Chase Bank Robbed Wednesday Night
The Fred Meyer branch of Chase Bank was held up Wednesday night just before 7:00 p.m. According to the Department of Public Safety, officers responded just after the occurrence and the suspect had already fled the premises.
