The Happy Camp Complex of fires has grown to 66,335 acres and the National Weather Service issued a fire watch for Tuesday night through Wednesday because of a combination of strong winds and extremely dry conditions. North to northeast winds are expected which will increase fire behavior with long range spotting a possibility.

Early Pear Harvest Below Normal
Midway through an early harvest, one of the world's largest pear growers says its Rogue Valley crop isn't meeting expectations. Medford-based Naumes Inc. says that the harvest is two weeks ahead of schedule and it looks like the yield will be 15 percent below normal. It says the culprit was a two-day freeze in late March.

Happy Camp Fires Grow; Wind Shift Sends Smoke Away from Oregon
The Happy Camp Complex of fires has grown to 63,847 acres and is 15 percent contained. Warmer dryer weather today is expected as a high pressure system builds over the region. Continued slow spread of the fire is expected so long as a temperature inversion remains over the fire. Should the inversion lift significant spotting could occur. A shift in the winds is carrying the smoke to the southeast.
