WHAT FIREWORKS ARE LEGAL?
Only "Oregon Legal Consumer Fireworks"
Consumer Fireworks that:
• Do not explode
• Do not fly into the air
• Do not travel more than 6 feet horizontally
• Do not travel more than 12 inches vertically
Bottle rockets, Roman candles, and firecrackers are ILLEGAL in Oregon.

No grand fireworks display is scheduled in Grants Pass this year, but there are many within reasonable driving distance, depending on where you’d like to be.

Land Board Clears Way for Gold Ray Demo
Prep work to remove Gold Ray Dam from the Rogue River in Jackson County is scheduled to resume on Tuesday after the state Land Use Board of Appeals dismissed an appeal that stopped demolition work last week.

Two GP streets closed for July 4 activities
Two streets in Grants Pass will be closed due to 4th of July activities on Sunday.

Northwest Caddis Place will be closed for an Independence Day pot luck from noon to 5, and Southwest Leonard Street, between Southwest K Street and Abilene Way is closed from 6 to 11 p.m.

Motorcyclist dies from injuries from Wednesday crash
A Grants Pass man involved in a late-night crash at the intersection of Northeast Seventh and E streets Wednesday night has died.

21-year-old Justin Leair died just before 9 p.m. last night at Rogue Valley Medical Center.

Ashland High School’s football stadium, the home of the Grizzlies, suffered fire damage Wednesday night and investigators are trying to determine if the blaze was arson caused.
