Tuesday Sheriff’s Office incidents
A male and female were found unconscious near the waste water treatment plant on Sawyer Avenue. Deputies managed to awake the pair and they were warned regarding their behavior.
Douglas Complex Contained
The Douglas Forest Protective Association declared the Douglas Complex Fires 100 percent contained yesterday. The Type 3 Incident Command Team, led by DFPA, will remain in place to continue mop up operations, work on rehab projects, and patrol the fire lines. One hundred and sixty-two firefighters remain assigned to the incident to complete these objectives.
Despite the incident being fully contained, smoke from the interior of the fire will be visible until fall rains return and extinguish them.

An Ashland arborist who is accused of sending thousands of dollars overseas to fund a terrorist organization has been released.
Commissioners Set to Approve Explanatory Statements for County Ballot Measures

State Troopers working the Grants Pass worksite reported 5 Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicant arrests over the Labor Day weekend. Statewide, Troopers made 54 arrests.

Medford Police have identified Jose Valencia-Gaona as a suspect in the stabbing homicide of Maria Rodriguez, 38, Sunday night at 1990 Tablerock Road.
Bear Camp Road Open; Big Windy 87% Contained
Josephine County Emergency Services officially re-opened Bear Camp Road at 6:00 this morning. All BLM roads off Bear Camp are closed. Should fire activity increased there is the possibility the closure will be implemented again.
Victims in crash identified
The victims in an alleged DUII motor vehicle crash have been identified. 29-year-old Juan Lopez-Florez and 33-year-old Rogelio Avalos are both in the hospital and reported in fair condition.
Tyler McGinnis Captures Labor Day Regatta
Tyler McGinnis of Gold Beach captured the Labor Day Regatta, staged by the Cal-Ore River Racers today. The format is similar to the Boatnik Whitewater Race on Memorial Day with 4 separate legs being run, only today’s Regatta started at Griffin Park went to Riverside Park and return accounting for two legs.
