California Women Jailed in Jackson County for Passing Forged Travelers Checks
Deborah Burrell Townsend, 50, and Kimberly Michelle Campbell, 56, both of Los Angeles were in the Jackson County jail with bail set at over a million dollars each facing 33 counts of I.D. theft, 29 counts of forgery, four counts of 1st degree theft, three counts of aggravated I.D. theft and a racketeering charges.

Troopers Incident Log for Wednesday
According to the Oregon State Trooperís incident log Wednesday morning Alesha Kay Coy, 20, of Grants Pass failed to negotiate a curve on a wet roadway and her white Chevrolet Blazer slid off the road and struck a tree at milepost six. She did not require medical attention.

Mechanic who victimized car enthusiasts in Grants Pass is waiting extradition from Arizona
An experienced auto-body mechanic who fraudulently stole money and cars from multiple Grants Pass residents was jailed Tuesday morning in Flagstaff, Arizona, and he is awaiting extradition to Josephine County.

ODF Crews Mopping Up Lightening Fires; Brace for Hot, Dry Weekend
Engine crews from the Oregon Department of Forestryís Medford and Grants Pass units have mopped up the 29 lightning-caused fires from Tuesday's thunderstorms, and are repacking their engines with fresh hoses and tools in anticipation of having to respond to new wildfires in the near future.

Sex Abuse Charges Dropped Against OSF Actor
Charges of sexual abuse have been dropped against an Oregon Shakespeare Festival actor who was arrested in February. Tyrone Kenneth Wilson of Ashland had pleaded not guilty to the charges that stemmed from a relationship he had with a woman last fall.

Medford Parks Cooperating in Herbicide Overspray Investigation
The Medford City Parks personnel sprayed a herbicide known as Garlon 4 along Lazy Creek, a tributary of Bear Creek, around July 9th & 10th in an effort to control blackberry bushes. The goal was to improve safety by eliminating areas for transients to camp along the creek.
