G.P. Council argues over changes to development code
The Grants Pass City Council during their Monday workshop focused on an item that wasn’t on the agenda and several councilors were split on how to progress with changes to the development code.
Employment on the Rise in Josephine County
Josephine County total payroll employment rose by 210 jobs in April. Leisure and hospitality accounted for the largest share of the month’s gain, up by 90 jobs. Manufacturing continues to be an area of recent job growth, adding another 40 jobs over the month, 10 of those in wood products. Construction added 20 jobs in April, but continues to show essentially flat employment change over the year.
DUII Driver in Fatal Crash Sentenced to 5 Years’ Probation
Judge Pat Wolke sentenced Austin Charles Lawrence to 5 years supervised probation on charges stemming from a fatal car crash on October 22nd of 2012.
Ashland Council considers removal of plaza community board
The Ashland City Council is considering the removal of the community board and kiosk in the Downtown Plaza.
OSP Investigating Body Found Saturday in Wolf Creek Area
Oregon State Police Southern Command Center dispatch received a call Saturday afternoon from a couple who found a body while walking along Lower Grave Creek. An OSP trooper responded to the 8100 block of Lower Grave Creek Road and confirmed the report.

NE Beverly Drive Closed Monday for Water Service Repairs
City of Grants Pass construction crews will be replacing a leaking water service Monday at 1709 NE Beverly Drive. The work will require excavation across the full width of the street.
