Grant Enables Jacksonville to Assess Historic Building Use
The city of Jacksonville has received a $5,000 grant from the Ford Family Foundation of Roseburg to look at uses for the historic 1883 courthouse building and the work needed to accommodate those uses.

James Goodwin is scheduled to be sworn in as the Grants Pass City Councilor representing Ward 4 during the Monday workshop. Goodwin was appointed at the last City Council meeting for the position that had been vacated by Darren Fowler when he was elected mayor.

Bates Introduces Anti-Suction Dredge Mining

A Winter Weather Advisory above 2000 feet remains in effect until 10 AM this morning. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches at an elevation of 1500 feet is possible this morning rising to 2000 feet by noon. Locations include Toketee falls, Ashland and Prospect.

Sen. Wyden Promises Boost in Timber Harvest
Senator Ron Wyden addressed the Medford Rotary Club yesterday and pledged to boost the federal timber harvest in Southern Oregon, something he does have influence on as the new chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.

The Oregon Department of Forestry is planning a controlled burn in the Granite Estates area today. 40 acres will be involved in the burn five miles southwest of Grants Pass in the Ridgecrest Drive/Demeray Drive area.
