Central Point Fish & Wildlife Trooper Named Division’s Trooper of the Year
State Police Senior Trooper Jim Collom, of the Central Point Area Command office, was recognized Wednesday when he received the Fish & Wildlife Division's 2013 "Trooper of the Year" award. The award presentation was made by Captain Jeff Samuels, director of the Fish & Wildlife Division, at the Cole Rivers Hatchery on the Rogue River in front of his supervisors, peers, and staff that he works with.

Tommy Edward Dodson, 66, of Grants Pass was sentenced to time served, 135 days, 5 years of probation supervision and forbidden to go anywhere near his victims or their property in the Forest Creek Road area.

Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilbertson has publicly announced he stands by his testimony that County Commissioner Simon Hare moved money from the Sheriff’s Office budget in 2012 to make an appeal to voters to vote yes on a proposed public safety levy that was eventually defeated but Hare calls the accusation misled and impossible.
