Two Motorcyclists Struck by Suspended Driver
Two Utah men riding motorcycles on Highway 199 south of Cave Junction were injured Tuesday afternoon when they were struck from behind by a motor vehicle driven by a suspended driver. Oregon State Police investigated the crash and cited the driver.
County commissioners approve allocation of criminal justice funds
The Josephine County Commissioners during their Wednesday business session approved the allocation of criminal justice grant funds that were awarded by the recent extension of the Secure Rural Schools Act.

Controlled Burn Scheduled for London Peak
The Oregon Department of Forestry is conducting a controlled burn near Wolf Creek today. They plan to torch five acres in the London Peak area, about one quarter mile west of Interstate -5 near exit 75.
Grants Pass Man Sentenced to 4-Years Hard Time
Friday Judge Thomas Hull sentenced Sean Patrick Mitchell, 28, to 48 months in the Oregon Department of Corrections. Mitchell pled guilty to multiple charges including unauthorized use of a vehicle, 1st degree theft, three counts of attempting to elude, being a felon in possession of a firearm, 1st degree criminal mischief and reckless driving. Nine additional counts were disposed of with no conviction.
Troopers Arrest Fugitive after Cave Junction Assault
State troopers arrested a fugitive Tuesday following an investigation into an assault in Cave Junction. The suspect arrested originally provided a false name but was later identified through fingerprints as a fugitive wanted on warrants out of Colorado, Nevada, and US Marshals Service

D.O.J. To Take No Action in Hareís Stolen Jeep
The Oregon Department of Justice has notified the Josephine County District Attorney, Stephen Campbell, they do not believe there is additional investigation to be done, nor is there sufficient evidence to charge Simon Hare with a crime, but the final say does rest with Campbell.
