Two men have been flown to Legacy Emanuel Burn Center in Portland and a 12-year-old girl is being treated for broken bones at Rogue Regional Medical Center following what police term a hash oil explosion.

Reward Offered for Cause of Four Corners Fire
The Oregon Department of Forestry and the Oregon chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person, or people, who caused the Four Corners Fire.

Medford court sentences molester to 25 years

Private Sector Gains Jobs in 12 Months Ending in October
Josephine County total payroll employment fell by 180 jobs in October. Most of the decrease was due to seasonally expected declines totaling 210 in leisure and hospitality. Other seasonal industries losing employment included mining, logging and construction. Small employment losses were also estimated in retail trade, wholesale trade, and transportation, warehousing and utilities. Financial activities employment added 20 jobs over the month. Total government employment rose by 110, in large part due to 130 jobs added in local government education.

City looks at joining PERS pool and forming PAVE
The Grants Pass City Councilors during their Monday workshop decided to take a further look at joining the statewide Public Employees’ Retirement System pool and the formation of the Performance Appraisal Visioning and Enhancing Committee.

Commissioners Raise County Fees & Approve Timber Sale
The Josephine County Commissioners, in a rare Monday edition of the Weekly Business Session, approved two orders that will change the fee structure charged by the county for Public Health, by the County Surveyor, for the Public Land Corner Preservation Fund and for County planning.
