Grassroots Organization Hosts Walden & Community Leaders in Roundtable
A grassroots organization, Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities is hosting a roundtable discussion this Friday morning beginning at 9:30 at Fruitdale Elementary School at 1560 Bill Baker Way.
The group will feature U.S. Congressman Greg Walden and local leaders Senator Herman Baertschiger, Representative Wally Hicks, Sheriff Gil Gilbertson, County Commissioner Simon Hare, Three Rivers School Board Chair Ron Crume, Juvenile Justice Director Jim Goodwin, Mayor Darin Fowler, Public Safety Deputy Fire Chief Lang Johnson and Rough and Ready owner Jennifer Phillippi.
Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities supports congressional action on federal forests reforms. According to Nick Smith, from the organization, the roundtable is intended to give Congressman Walden feedback and ideas to find solutions that support local governments and help put people back to work.
