Steroid suspect could forfeit huge sum of money
The suspect in a steroid case could be forfeiting a huge sum of money for allegedly making thousands of dollars after selling the drugs across state lines.
Medford Police arrested Rafael Fernandez in early February after receiving an anonymous tip that Fernandez was heavily involved in the distribution of steroids. During a search of his home investigators discovered pounds of steroids, Viagra and Cialis in addition to cash.
Investigators were able to track texts from Fernandez and they say he is linked to a major drug bust that occurred in Las Vegas.
Fernandez could lose up to $64,000 if the money is determined to be the result of drug proceeds.
