Authorities continue search for alleged bridge jumper
Authorities with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue as well as members of the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety have had little luck locating a man, dead or alive, who allegedly jumped off the Debbs Potts Memorial Bridge Friday around 10:20 p.m.
Two people reported seeing the man jump, including one that flagged down a police officer and another who made a 911 call. Officers located a black Huffy Santa Fe mountain bike, blue jeans, green shirt, sandals and a yellow lighter at the scene. Rescuers have scoured the area for the past few days but have located no sign of either a body or an area where someone exited the water.
The man is described as being 16 to 20 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and thinly built.
Anyone with information about this case should call the Department of Public Safety at 541-450-6260.
