Woman driving the wrong way on Redwood Highway arrested for DUII
A woman driving the wrong way on Redwood Highway was arrested and jailed just before noon Wednesday on charges of DUII.
Oregon State Police troopers contacted 60-year-old Victoria Lee Alford of Medford after she had crashed into an embankment on the highway near milepost 15 southbound. Alford told troopers she had taken clonazepam for an anxiety attack she had after the accident. She was cited for speeding and was allowed to stay with her vehicle while a tow was en route.
Another trooper a short time later drove by the area and saw Alford driving the wrong way on the highway in her vehicle. She was charged with reckless driving and DUII and taken to jail.
