City Council to amend franchise agreements
The Grants Pass City Council during their Wednesday meeting at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at 101 N.W. A St. are set to approve amendments to franchise agreements with Republic Services and Southern Oregon Sanitation.
The amendment would have the city pay $40 to Republic Services per ton of bio-solids for transfer to the Dry Creek Landfill.
The city is also set to amend their agreement with Southern Oregon Sanitation which currently transports vegetative waste to Jo-Gro. With the proposed closure of the city’s operation of Jo-Gro, the amendment would have S.O.S. transport the material to a DEQ approved composting facility.
