Cyclist Dies after Colliding with Car
A 66-year-old bicyclist died Friday afternoon after colliding with a car that turned in front of him.
Medford Police were dispatched to the 900 block of South Riverside Avenue at 12:57 after the report of an injured bicyclist was received. They found the victim unconscious. He was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center by ambulance with a serious head injury where he was pronounced dead at 1:52 p.m.
The investigation revealed the bicyclist was riding north on Riverside when he struck the rear quarter panel of a car making a right turn into a business.
There was no evidence the bicyclist was wearing a helmet. His name has not been released because the next of kin has yet to be notified.
