Suspect in Ashland Murder Fights Extradition
A man accused of murdering an Ashland resident earlier this month and then fleeing to Vancouver, Washington is being held in the Clark County Jail and is seeking to delay his extradition to Oregon.
Othon Robert Campos Junior, 41, has been indicted by a Jackson County Grand Jury for killing Frank Damiano, 62, in his Ashland mobile home on October 10th.
Investigators believe Campos and Merlin Elmo Bound III, 34, entered Damiano’s trailer with the intention of robbing him, and the incident turned murderous.
Bound was arrested days later and lodged in the Jackson County Jail. Campos was arrested the morning of October 19th.
The delay in extradition will be four to six weeks, but is not expected to affect the case against Campos.
