The crash occurred around 11:41 a.m. Monday when for an unknown reason a Bell Jet Ranger crashed into the river and knocked down several power lines. The cause of the crash has not been determined.

34-year-old Assistant District Fisheries Biologist Holly Huchko suffered a broken back in the incident. 35-year-old Fisheries Habitat Biologist Eric Himmelreich suffered two broken vertebrae in the crash. Both were transported to a Roseburg hospital.

The pilot, whose name and condition are not known, was air lifted to a Eugene hospital.
