G.P. City Manager proposes creation of strategic planning and auditing committee
Grants Pass City Manager Aaron Cubic has proposed the dissolution of the city’s audit committee in order to form a more comprehensive committee that would perform both audits and strategic planning.
The committee would be called PAVE, which is an acronym for Performance Appraisal Visioning and Enhancing Committee. Cubic says PAVE, “Would allow an opportunity to better align the audit committee with the appraisals, values and vision of each department.”
The PAVE concept is going to be used on next year’s audit of the Department of Public Safety if approved by the city council during their Wednesday meeting at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 101 N.W. A St. Wednesday’s approval would also issue a request for proposal for an outside consulting group to perform the strategic plan and audit.
Cubic says the formation of PAVE would include the participation of council members, business and community leaders and outside professionals who could thoroughly analyze a department’s operation such as a retired detective in the case of Public Safety.
Cubic says with council’s approval the formation of PAVE may be added to a future agenda.
