Civic Organizations Serve T-Giving Dinner
There are several places in the valley where free Thanksgiving dinners will be served by non-profit and civic organizations.
The Gospel Rescue Mission is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner in Wagner Hall at 540 southwest Foundry. The public will be served from noon to two with the volunteers welcome at 11 a.m. Advance reservations are not necessary and diners are welcome to bring canned food donations. There is no charge for the meal.
The St. Vincent DePaul soup kitchen is serving turkey with all the trimmings from noon through 1:30. The building, at 757 Southeast 7th Street, will be open at 9:00 for coffee and donuts. Everything is free.
In Rogue River the V.F.W. at 410 East Main will be serving from 2 p.m. until the food is gone. Veterans are especially welcome but the meal is open to all. No contribution is needed, however guests are welcome to bring a dish to share and donations will be accepted.
