Phoenix Resident Busted for Pot After MADGE Intercepted Package with $12K Inside
Monday afternoon Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team investigators contacted Mark Hill in the 700 block of West 1st Street in Phoenix according to today’s media release. Following that conversation, they applied for a search warrant for that residence that was a known Oregon Medical Marijuana Program grow site for two.
Three and a half hours later the warrant was executed and authorities found 65 pounds of dried marijuana, traces of methamphetamine and heroin, dried mushrooms, scales, packaging material, shipping material and $740 in cash believed to be proceeds of drug trafficking.
Hill was lodged in jail on drug and money laundering charges with bail set at $35,000.
Authorities initially alerted to Hill on October 5th when a police canine alerted on a package being sent to his address. Investigators opened the package on October 9th after obtaining a search warrant and found it contained $12,000 in U.S. currency.
