Authorities arrest Cave Junction man for Selma stabbing
The Oregon State Police apprehended a 66-year-old Cave Junction man who slashed two people with a knife just after midnight Tuesday in the 100 block of Forest Creek Road in Selma.

Authorities received several calls from citizens who said a man was in the area yelling obscenities. Sheriff’s patrols were not on duty at the time and the Oregon State Police were unable to make it to the scene.

Eventually, the man attacked a couple citizens with a blade and neighbors managed to subdue him until the sheriff and OSP arrived.

The man was taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation and charges have been referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
