Homeless man terrorizes Sizzler patrons with a handgun
Grants Pass Department of Public Safety officers arrested a homeless man Friday at roughly 4:02 p.m. who was pointing a handgun at patrons of the Sizzler Restaurant on 7th Street.
911 Dispatch received several emergency calls from patrons of the restaurant who said a man, later identified as 51-year-old Michael Henry Goodwin, was pulling a handgun from his pocket, waving it around and pointing it at people.
Officers contacted Sizzler and told them to lock their doors while they apprehended Goodwin near the entrance of the nearby Super 8 Motel.
Further investigation revealed the handgun had been stolen from a residence in rural Josephine County earlier this year.
Goodwin was lodged in jail on multiple charges including felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, pointing a firearm at another, menacing and for three failure to appear warrants.
