A high speed chase by Jackson County Deputies and the Oregon State Troopers early Tuesday morning resulted in the arrest of three Medford residents for traffic violations and drug charges.
The chase began when Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop on a 2003 BMW. The driver ignored officer’s lights and sirens, ran a stoplight at Delta Waters Road while headed to I-5. Traveling at a high rate of speed the driver avoided spike strips near exit 14 by getting off the freeway and then returning in the northbound lanes.
At milepost 17 spike strips were again deployed and this time hit the BMW’s front tires and the car began to slow and eventually came to a stop at Highway 99 and Arnos Street in Talent.
The driver, Adrian Thornton, 28, was charged with eluding, reckless driving plus possession and delivery of methamphetamine. Rachael Graham, 22, faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine. Another passenger, Jamie Cole, 26, was taken into custody but no charges have been listed.
