Commissioners Approve Fair Operations through 100th Anniversary
The Josephine County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the continuing operation of the Fairgrounds through the end of fiscal year 2013-14, which ends the last day of June and the operation of the 100th annual fair in August.
The Commissioners also approved a $20,000 grant from funds earmarked by the state for Economic Development, to institute the Fairgrounds Marketing Development plan that projects a positive cash flow of just over $26,000 by the end of the fiscal year.
Commissioner Heck advised the crowd that the ultimate survival of the Fairgrounds rests with the community through donations and volunteerism.
The Commissioners also approved the McMahon Comprehensive Planning zone change; stayed the implementation of the Home Occupation Home Fee and approved the temporary position of County Medical Director, without which the Public Health Department cannot apply for Grants, or administer the WIC program or immunizations.
