Mt. Ashland Ski Area still needs snow to open
The Mt. Ashland Ski Area still needs snow in order to open its lifts for skiers and snowboarders.
A storm predicted by the National Weather Service for last weekend wasn’t as fruitful as ski enthusiasts had hoped and only six inches of snow accumulated on the mountain.
The ski area typically opens in the middle of December and would have normally paid approximately $190,000 to employees thus far.
This week is predicted to be mostly dry with a possibility of snow on Saturday.
