Teacherís union in Medford votes to strike
The Medford Education Association, a Medford based teacherís union, had roughly 95 percent of its members vote Thursday to hold a strike on the Medford School District.
Teachers and administrators have been unable to come to an agreement for almost a year on several key issues including compensation, prep-time, early retirement and pension contributions.
Oregon law requires the union to give 10 days notice before a strike but the union has not decided when or if that notice will be delivered.
Talks between the union and the district continue today in Medford.
