Commissioners approve 2014-15 fiscal year budget
The Josephine County Commissioners during their Weekly Business Session voted unanimously to approve the 2014-15 fiscal year budget.
County Chief Financial Officer Rosemary Padgett addressed the board about the budget during the last Weekly Business Session she will attend before her retirement. The budget includes a total amount of $84,710,700 which will pay for a total of 309.06 full time equivalents.
This budget means county residents will be paying a permanent tax rate levy of $0.5867 and an animal shelter and local control option levy in the amount of $0.08 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
The commissioners also discussed the additional sheriff’s patrols that will begin this year with the allocation of contingency and general fund dollars to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office will employ 12.7 FTE in patrol and dispatch operations providing for patrols 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
The commissioners also approved a wage study adjustment and a contract with Copeland Paving for W. Harbeck Road sidewalk improvements.
