Lightning & Thunder Storms Miss Josephine and Jackson County
Thunderheads loomed large late Tuesday along the Oregon-California border and the National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for our area but no lightning crept into Jackson or Josephine counties' forestlands. As such, no lightning-caused fires were reported overnight on lands protected by the Oregon Dept. of Forestry's Southwest Oregon District.

Yesterday's thunderstorms veered east into Klamath County, then went north-northwest into Douglas and Lane counties. 85 strikes were recorded in Douglas county, resulting in one small fire so far near Days Creek. It is being manned by Douglas County
Forest Protection Service.

Today, the National Weather Service says there is a slight chance of thunderstorms in the southern Cascades with most of the lightning predicted to take place in Klamath and Lake counties.
