Local Landowners May Signup for Healthy Forest Reserve Program
Local landowners may sign up for funding management activities on working forest lands through the Healthy Forest Reserve Program through March 31st.
The focus of the program is to help landowners manage their land for sustainable, profitable timber harvests while securing long term protection from regulatory restrictions protecting the Northern Spotted Owl.
Landowners may apply for financial assistance after developing a forest stewardship plan. Participants receive funding to implement selected forest management activities, such as thinning, tree planting, and stream buffers.
