Unemployment figures rise in January
Josephine County’s unemployment figures rose 1.4 percentage points in the one-month period from December to January, from 13.8 percent to 15.2. January’s decline was mostly due to typical seasonal reductions in retain trade

The Oregon Employment Department says the county had 14.7 percent unemployment in January 2000.

The state’s unemployment figure also rose in the last month, from 10.7 to 11.8 percent.

Through 2009, the largest losses occurred in manufacturing, construction, and business and professional services.
