Meth Investigation Nets Three Arrests; More Anticipated
Three men are in custody following an investigation lasting several months that came to fruition Wednesday morning.
The Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team along with Grants Pass detectives were conducting surveillance on a local residence after a tip led them to believe an out of state shipment of methamphetamine was in the process of being distributed.
Chris Sage, 48 was seen leaving an apartment carrying a canvas tarp concealing firearms. Officers stopped Sage who resisted arrest and seized a stolen Ar-15, a shotgun, over a pound of marijuana and four ounces of meth.
As the investigation progressed officers executed a stop on a vehicle on 7th Street near Manzanita with three occupants and arrested John Gabriel Martinez, 28, and Taro Manuita, 36, both of Sacramento, on charges of unlawful possession, distribution and manufacture of meth. Additional charges may be forth coming for both men. An adult female was released.
Information developed throughout the day led authorities to another apartment where two pounds of methamphetamine, one in a safe, and four firearms were seized.
This investigation is ongoing and more arrests are anticipated.
