One in Jail, One in the Hospital After Stabbing behind 7-11
21-year old Michael Sprouse of Laurel Lane in Grants Pass is in the County Jail on a probation violation after being named the suspect in an altercation behind the 7-11 that culminated in the stabbing of 26-year old Andrew Jackson inflicting an eight centimeter wound to the right side of Jackson’s torso.

At 1:30 Thursday afternoon police responded to the alley behind the 7-11 store in the 700 block of 6th Street, located Jackson and determined Sprouse had fled the area.

The two had engaged in a physical altercation and during the fight Sprouse obtained a knife and stabbed Jackson, who was taken to Three Rivers Medical Center for treatment.

Sprouse was contacted and taken into custody on a probation violation with additional charges being referred to the D.A.’s office.
