A two vehicle accident occurred in the 1600 block of Williams Highway in the southbound lanes near a Safeway parking lot exit at approximately 1:18 p.m. Sunday.

The accident entirely blocked the highway for a period of time.

According to witnesses, Neila Mae Moore suddenly drove her silver Chrysler town car out from the parking lot onto the highway where she struck Christina Shumate’s red 2002 Ford in the front passenger side.

Paramedics transported Shumate to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

Officers cited Moore for dangerous left turn and Shumate for driving uninsured.
