Council Considers Committee Appointments
City Councilors interviewed four applicants for four vacant budget committee vacancies at the Monday Workshop and, according to city policy, two will be appointed Wednesday night.

Interviewed were sitting members whose term is up Jerry Leagjeld and Ferris Simpson, and new applicants Jerry Jay Snodgrass and Robert Shannon.

City policy is to have three applicants for a single appointment. Two earlier applicants withdrew their applications after the process had begun. The council is expected to appoint two and re-advertise for the remaining two positions; or may be able override policy and appoint all four.

Two applicants were to be interviewed for one position on the Historic Buildings and Sites Commission but Teresa Santucci appeared before councilors and siting increasing work demands, withdrew her application. The sitting commissioners Shirley Holzinger will likely be re-appointed.
