Saturday morning at 10:36 the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to the report of a possible structure fire in a vacant residence on Union Avenue near Ringuette.

The fire was quickly extinguished and there was no damage to any nearby structures. The cause appears to be a warming fire located in a bedroom on the northwest side of the house near the middle of the room. A couple of passers-by observed a transient leaving the residence about an hour earlier.

The structure was vacant and has been posted as uninhabitable. Anyone with information about this incident should call the Department of Public Safety at 541-450-6260.
