Selma man arrested on rape charges for alleged relationship with young girl
A Selma resident was arraigned in court yesterday on charges of three counts of second-degree rape for an alleged relationship he had with a 13-year-old girl.

Oregon State Police Detective Tom Willis says 18-year-old Thomas Knott began a sexual relationship with the girl in October of last year. The relationship continued through Thanksgiving. The girl notified authorities in December and Knott was subsequently investigated and arrested on Jan. 17. Detective Willis says during an interview Knott admitted to the relationship and that he knew the girl was middle school aged but believed she was 14-years-old.

Knott is held in jail on $50,000 bail.
