Local Reservoirs Expected to Reach Filling Level
Federal water managers say Lost Creek and Applegate reservoirs are both well on their way to filling for the 12th consecutive year.
The Corps of Engineers officially will start its filling schedule Friday at Applegate Lake with that body of water already ten feet higher than it normally is on February 1st.
Since the January first start of its filling season Lost Creek Lake is about a foot shy of ideal, primarily because of a two week dry spell in the middle of the month.
With more rain and snow forcast and a snowpack already sitting at 116 percent of average, Corps officials are anticipating no trouble filling both reservoirs.
