Officers from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety arrested a woman Tuesday for allegedly using a pair of scissors in an attack on her boyfriend.

Police responded to the 700 block of N.E. 11th Street in Grants Pass at approximately 10:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a domestic disturbance. According to investigators, 31-year-old Katty Lynn Sherman punched her boyfriend Jesse Gallego in the left eye causing pain and blurred vision and then scraped him down his left arm with a pair of scissors causing bleeding.

Sherman is charged with second-degree assault, which constitutes intentionally causing reckless physical injury to another individual by means of a deadly weapon, as well as fourth-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. She is held on jail on $50,000 bail.
