Antique Guns Recovered; Two Arrested
Two men are in the Jackson County Jail in connection with the theft of 7 black powder and antique replica firearms taken during a burglary from a Brookhurst Apartment discovered last Thursday. All but one of the guns was recovered.

Friday a citizen contacted police telling them William Sandercock, 21, offered to sell him an antique firearm. Police, already familiar with Sandercock because of his connection to a large scale mail theft case earlier last week, contacted him at his Brookhurst address, a block away from the victim’s residence.

The investigation then led to a trailer at 602 Riverside Avenue and contact with Randall Dean Kirby, 31. All the firearms except an antique .22 caliber revolver were recovered.

Sandercock had already opened several credit card accounts under the burglary victim’s name and faces additional I.D. theft charges. His bail is $70,000 and Kirby is being held in lieu of $14,000 bail.
